29 CFR 1910.178(q)(7): Industrial trucks shall be examined before being placed in service, and shall not be placed in service if the examination shows any condition adversely affecting the safety of the vehicle. Such examination shall be made at least daily. Where industrial trucks are used on a round-the-clock basis, they shall be examined after each shift. Defects when found shall be immediately reported and corrected. Throughout facility - On or about February 24, 2014, employees (full-time / temporary) were required to operate powered industrial vehicles in the performance of their duties. The employer did not perform an examination of the Mitsubishi model FB18PNT, serial number EFB2600385 / Mitsubishi model FBC25N2, Serial number AFB3050344, to check for defects prior to / or after each shift, thereby exposing employees to struck by hazards.
