29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(6): 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(6): Except as provided in 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(7) and 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(8), the employer did not ensure that each container of hazardous chemicals in the workplace was labeled, tagged or marked with either the information specified under paragraphs (f)(1)(i) through (v) of this section for labels on shipped containers; or the product identifier and words, pictures, symbols, or combination thereof, which provide at least general information regarding the hazards of the chemicals and which, in conjunction with the other information immediately available to employees under the hazard communication program, would provide employees with the specific information regarding the physical and health hazards of the hazardous chemical: a) On or about7/6/2016, Gallon paint cans were being stored in the flammable liquid cabinet across from the paint line wash system without labels to identify the material inside. (Isopropyl Alcohol) Employee that put the cans into the cabinet new what they contained as he uses the material daily for cleaning parts. b) On or about 7/6/2016, Chemical totes in the waste treatment area were not labeled with hazard warnings with respect to the chemicals they contained such as STABOPOL 81. The SDS for that product had a hazard statement which stated: Causes severe skin burns and eye damage. Employee storing totes is familiar with the chemicals being used in the process. c) On or about 7/6/2016, Paint line wash tanks did not have hazard warning signs for the chemicals they contained. The SDS for Gardacid P 4307 which was in one of the tanks had the following hazard statement: Causes severe skin burns and eye damage. Employee monitoring the tanks is familiar with the chemicals and their potential hazards. Crystal Finishing Systems, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.1200(f)(5)(i) & 1910.1200(f)(5)(ii), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 963960, citation number 1, item number 7b and 7c and was affirmed as a final order on 8/14/2014, with respect to a workplace located at 2610 ROSS AVENUE, SCHOFIELD, WI. 54476.
