29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1)(i): The employer did not ensure that each powered industrial truck operator was competent to operate a powered industrial truck safely, as demonstrated by the successful completion of the training and evaluation specified in this paragraph (l). (a) On or about 11-09-2015 and times prior thereto, located at U.S. Postal Service Sandston Distribution Center, 5801 Technology Blvd. Sandston, VA 23150, Condition: Employees operated powered pallet jacks and had not received training to ensure that they were competent to operate this equipment. The United States Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1)(I), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 330623, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 07-10-13, with respect to a workplace located at U.S. Postal Service San Jose, CA. The United States Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29 CFR 1910.178(l)(1)(I), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 750881, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 04-12-14, with respect to a workplace located at U.S. Postal Service San Jose, CA. The United States Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 29CFR 1910.178(l)(1)(I) , which was contained in OSHA inspection number 802943, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 04-15-13, with respect to a workplace located at U.S. Postal Service MLS P&DC San Diego, CA.
