29 CFR 1910.23(e)(5)(i): Handrail(s) did not consist of a lengthwise member that was mounted directly on a wall or partition by means of a bracket attached to the lower side of the handrail: On or about September 14, 2015, the steps on line 2 leading up to the mezzanine where the automated chicken weighing system was located had the handrails welded to the mezzanine supports. The handrail on the right side when ascending the steps was welded in two places to the mezzanine supports. It was necessary to lift the hand off of the handrail and move it to the other side of the support when ascending the steps because of the welds when using the handrail on the right side. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
