Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The %% employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to structural collapse due to inadequately bridged joists: (a) Shopko Warehouse Site, 1001 East Bowen Road, Boise, Idaho On November 20, 1991 and at the time prior thereto, the open web steel joists in Area B, grid lines A to E and columns B to S, were not provided with horizontal bridging. Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable abatement method to correct this hazard is: Install horizontal bridging at times of the erection and prior to placement of construction loads in accordance with provided shop drawings.
