29 CFR 1910.95(i)(2)(ii): The employer did not ensure that hearing protectors are worn by any employee who is exposed to an 8-hour time-weighted average of 85 decibels or greater: a) EG Plastics LLC One employee working between the melter and the shredder was exposed to continuous noise. Employee was exposed to 81% of the permissible daily noise exposure or an equivalent sound level of approximately 88.47dBA . Sampling period was 399 minutes, exposure calculations include a zero increment for the unsampled period. The employee did not wear hearing protection. The condition was noted at or around 08/16/18. NOTE: IN ADDITION TO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION, THE EMPLOYER IS REQUIRED TO SUBMIT ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION FOR THIS ITEM, FAILURE TO COMPLY WILL RESULT IN AN ADDITIONAL PENALTY OF $1,000.00 AS PER 29 CFR 1903.19.
