29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2): The employer did not initiate and maintain a safety program which provides for frequent and regular inspections of jobsites, materials, and equipment to be made by a competent person: (a) On or about November 9, 2022, at the Dry Bayou crossing beneath the Bayou Meta Canal project employees entered 54-inch diameter culverts to place and operate gasoline-powered dewatering pumps. The employer did not have a competent person on site that could recognize and evaluate the hazards created by introducing gasoline-powered engines into confined spaces.
