29 CFR 1910.333(c)(3)(iii)(B): Employees standing on the ground may not contact the vehicle or mechanical equipment or any of its attachments, unless the employee is using protective equipment rated for the voltage or the equipment is located so that no uninsulated part of its structure (that portion of the structure that provides a conductive path to employees on the ground) can come closer to the line than permitted in paragraph (c)(3)(iii) of this section: a) On or about 5/21/19 at a tree removal project located at 2607 Ridge Road, Mount Morris, New York; employees were using a crane while removing a tree and placing the logs roadside. An employee on the ground was handling the rigging attached to the hoist cable of the crane. The crane operator moved the crane boom near an unguarded, energized overhead line. The hoist cable on the crane made contact with the energized line electrocuting the employee. ABATEMENT DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED
