29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9): The distance between the abrasive wheel periphery(s) and the adjustable tongue or the end of the safety guard peripheral member at the top exceeded one fourth inch: Maintenance Shop: Employees use the Palmgren industrial bench grinder for deburring sharp edges. The right side tongue guard was measured 1/2 inches from the abrasive wheel. Employees were exposed to struck-by hazards. The U.S. Postal Service was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard [29 CFR 1910.215(b)(9)], which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1222181, citation number 1, item number 2B and was affirmed as a final order on June 9, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at 2800 Stafford Avenue, Scranton, Pennsylvania 18505.
