29 CFR 1910.132(h)(1): Except as provided by paragraphs (h)(2) through (h)(6) of this section, the protective equipment, including personal protective equipment (PPE), used to comply with this part, was not provided by the employer at no cost to employees. a) In Shop 3, On August 4, 2014 and at times prior thereto, employees were required, as a condition of employment, to provide, or buy through the company payroll deduction program, personal protective equipment (PPE) such as protective welding leathers , welding hood / helmet, safety glasses, gloves appropriate for the task, and hearing protection. Note: Abatement certification is required for this item.
