29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed. On or about: March 13, 2024 Location: 111 Tomkins Ave., Stony Point, NY 10980 a) The extension ladder used to access the pump jack scaffold was extended up to the pump jack scaffold working platform but did not extend at least 3 feet above the upper landing surface. One (1) worker exposed to a fall hazard. J.G. Home Improvements/Ren Corp. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1705917, citation number 001, item number 003 and was affirmed as a final order on 12/7/2023, with respect to a workplace located at 58 Hudson Terrace, Sleepy Hollow, NY 10591.
