29 CFR 1910.213(i)(1): Non-working portion(s) of the blade of bandsaw(s) were not enclosed or guarded: a) Pallet Tear Down Area - On or about July 10, 2014 and times prior to, the lower exposed portion of the blade under the bandsaw was not equipped with a guard, exposing employees to amputation hazards. b) Pallet Tear Down Area - On or about July 10, 2014 and times prior to, a portion of the metal guarding on the bandsaw wheels was pulled away from the housing and the bandsaw wheels were not fully encased, exposing employees to laceration and amputation hazards. Sam Wright dba Sam Wright Pallets was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.213(i)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 314092883, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on August 12, 2011, with respect to a workplace located at 4861 Register Road, Valdosta, GA 31605.
