29 CFR 1926.501(b)(1): "Unprotected sides and edges." Each employee on a walking/working surface (horizontal and vertical surface) with an unprotected side or edge which is 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above a lower level shall be protected from falling by the use of guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems. (a) House, Rafters - On or about January 23, 2013 two employees were exposed to a fall hazards while walking and working on the rafter beams. These employees were 11.6 feet above concrete floor and were not protected from falling to lower level by a guardrail system or personal fall arrest system. NEFTALI BARRON FRAMING AND CONSTRUCTION was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety standard 1926.501(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 313630253, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on May 18, 2010, with respect to a workplace located at Lot 62, Arbor Landing Brandon, MS 39042.
