Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.134(d)(1)(i): Selection of appropriate respirators was not based on the respiratory hazard(s) to which the worker was exposed and user factors that affect respirator performance and reliability: (Construction Reference 1926.103) The employer does not ensure that the appropriate respirator based on the respiratory hazards to which the worker is exposed is selected and provided. This violation occurred on or about April 28, 2012, at a residential home under construction where employees wore a 3M full face respirator with high efficiency (HE) filters and a Bullard free air pump when spraying foam insulation instead of a respirator with organic vapor cartridges with N95 filters.
