North Carolina General Statute 95-129(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of North Carolina: The employer did not furnish to each of his employees conditions of employment and a place of employment free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees, in that employees were exposed to electrical hazards while living in a temporary labor camp: a) One trailer used as a temporary labor camp located at 61 Wolfe Road, Hurdle Mills, NC-- The trailer was being occupied by five migrant farm workers while an ungrounded refrigerator was present in the kitchen. ABATEMENT NOTE: Among others, one feasible and acceptable means of abatement would be to ensure that all electrical wiring meets local building code, National Electrical Code standards and that the appliance has been installed according to the manufacturer's specifications.
