Section 5(a)(1) of the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970: The employer did not furnish employment and a place of employment which were free from recognized hazards that were causing or likely to cause death or serious physical harm to employees in that employees were exposed to: a) The hazard of a "neighbor cuts" in the Fabricator trim stand areas as a direct result of close working conditions: Among other methods, one feasible and acceptable method to correct this hazard is to enforce a policy prohibiting the "Stumping Fronts" operation directly behind the meat wash basin. Champion Boxed Beef was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard (Section 5(a)(1) or its equivalent standard which was contained in OSHA inspection number 101225720, citation number 1, item number 1, issued on 6/23/89.
