29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1): The employer did not ensure that each affected employee uses appropriate eye or face protection when exposed to eye or face hazards from flying particles, molten metal, liquid chemicals, acids or caustic liquids, chemical gases or vapors, or potentially injurious light radiation. a. On or about October 9, 2024, at the above addressed jobsite, employees using pneumatic nail guns were not wearing safety glasses, thereby exposing the employees to hazards associated with eye injuries. b. On or about October 9, 2024, at the above addressed jobsite, an employee using a portable powered circular saw was not wearing safety glasses, thereby exposing the employee to hazards associated with eye injuries. Chris Carpentry Co. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, 29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1651472, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on June 14, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 8300 W. 111th St. in Palos Hills, Illinois. Chris Carpentry Co. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, 29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1591574, citation number 1, item number 2, and was affirmed as a final order on September 28, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 4 Leanda Ln. in South Barrington, Illinois. Kryzsztof Kowalkowski dba Chris Carpentry Co. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, 29 CFR 1926.102(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1563270, citation number 1, item number 2, and was affirmed as a final order on February 22, 2022, with respect to a workplace located at 513 Porter St. in Lemont, Illinois.
