29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks. On or about September 5, 2024, and at times prior thereto, on the third floor of the batch house, employees travel on stairs adjacent to a conveyor belt and roller that is not guarded while performing preventative maintenance. Owens-Brockway Glass Container Inc dba Owens-Illinois, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1568613 citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on March 30, 2022, with respect to a workplace hazard at 1700 State Street Zanesville, OH 43701. O-I Glass, Inc. dba Glass to Glass was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard, 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1630262 citation number 2, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on March 24, 2023, with respect to a workplace hazard at 11331 W. Dillon Road, Broomfield, CO 80020.
