29 CFR 1910.138(a): General requirements. The employer did not select and require employees to use appropriate hand protection when employees' hands are exposed to hazards such as those from skin absorption of harmful substances; severe cuts or lacerations; severe abrasions; punctures; chemical burns; thermal burns; and harmful temperature extremes. On or about May 2, 2024, in the Hot Deli/Kitchen Area, employees utilizing the Rotisol Spatchcock Rotisserie Oven did not use proper hand protection while operating the oven. Vista Quality Market was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.138(a), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1679866, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on August 21, 2023, with respect to a workplace located at 3920 Doniphan, El Paso TX 79922.
