Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.119(n): Emergency planning and response. The employer shall establish and implement an emergency action plan for the entire plant in accordance with the provisions of 29 CFR 1910.38. In addition, the emergency action plan shall include procedures for handling small releases. Employers covered under this standard may also be subject to the hazardous waste and emergency response provisions contained in 29 CFR 1910.120 (a), (p) and (q). (a) On or about February 26, 2024, the employer's emergency LEL / Explosion Alarm Emergency Response One-Point Lesson was not adequate in that it did not instruct employees to stay out of the plume from an explosion until the alarm stopped. (b) The LEL / Explosion Alarm Emergency Response One-Point Lesson did not address any other duties that may be required for emergency response.
