29 CFR 1915.71(b)(5): Scaffolds shall be maintained in a safe and secure condition. Any component of the scaffold, which is broken, burned or otherwise defective shall be replaced. Aft End of LCAC 62: On and/or before January 25, 2024, the rolling Safway scaffold had a nail protruding approximately an inch above the plywood which was laid on top of the toe boards. Scaffolds were not maintained in a safe and secure condition. Employee(s) were potentially exposed to tetanus, trip and/or puncture hazard(s).
