29 CFR 1910.178(p)(1): Powered industrial truck(s) found to be in need of repair, defective, or in any way unsafe had not been taken out of service until restored to safe operating condition: a) Warehouse Area - On October 19, 2023, the employer did not ensure that the Toyota forklift model #8F GCU30, serial #62049, powered industrial truck(s) with the back rest with bent uprights, and a front light broken front light was withdrawn from service until restored to safe operating condition. b) Warehouse Area - On October 19, 2023, the employer did not ensure that the Toyota forklift model #7F GCU18, serial #72017, powered industrial truck(s) with the back rest damaged with bent uprights was withdrawn from service until restored to safe operating condition. c) Warehouse Area - On October 19, 2023, the employer did not ensure that the Toyota forklift model #7F GCU25, serial #62489, powered industrial truck(s) with the right hand side front light broken, damaged back rest with bent and twisted uprights, and the left side back tire damaged with a slice and crack was withdrawn from service until restored to safe operating condition. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(c), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET).
