29 CFR 1910.147(c)(7)(i)(A): Each authorized employee shall receive training in the recognition of applicable hazardous energy sources, the type and magnitude of the energy available in the workplace, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control: Florence Hardwoods, LLC does not ensure that each authorized employee receive training in the recognition of applicable hazardous energy sources, the type and magnitude of the energy available in the workplace, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control. This violation was most recently observed on June 28, 2023, at a workplace located at 5843 Tower Drive, Florence, Wisconsin in the Planer Building. a) On or about June 28, 2023, at a workplace located at 5843 Tower Drive, Florence, Wisconsin in the Planer Building, a supervisor employee engaged in cleaning, clearing boards jammed in equipment, climbing on top of and/or in-between automatic and fixed machine components, and setting up the Newman Planer, was not provided training in the recognition of application hazardous energy sources, the type and magnitude of the energy available in the workplace, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control as an authorized employee. b) On or about June 28, 2023, at a workplace located at 5843 Tower Drive, Florence, Wisconsin in the Sawmill, an employee engaged in cleaning, blade changes and blade tensioning on the McDonough Resaw was not provided training in the recognition of application hazardous energy sources, the type and magnitude of the energy available in the workplace, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control as an authorized employee. c) On or about June 28, 2023, at a workplace located at 5843 Tower Drive, Florence, Wisconsin in the Sawmill, an employee engaged in blade changes on the Gang Saw was not provided training in the recognition of application hazardous energy sources, the type and magnitude of the energy available in the workplace, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control as an authorized employee. d) On or about July 11, 2023, at a workplace located at 5843 Tower Drive, Florence, Wisconsin in the Truck Shop, an employee engaged in tire changes and brake repair/replacement on log truck and trailers was not provided training in the recognition of application hazardous energy sources, the type and magnitude of the energy available in the workplace, and the methods and means necessary for energy isolation and control as an authorized employee.
