29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: a) Side Elevation of Building - On or about June 29, 2023, employees were exposed to the hazard of falling approximately 25 feet where portable extension ladders did not extend at least 3 feet above the landing surface of ladder jack scaffolding platform. JM Superior Roofing LLC was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1459185, citation 1, item 3, and was affirmed as a final order on February 20, 2020, with respect to a worksite located at 125 Woodstock Ave., Kenilworth, Illinois. No abatement certification or documentation required for this violation.
