29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: a. On or about May 17, 2023, at the above addressed jobsite, the portable ladder used to access the roof did not extend at least three (3') feet above the upper landing surface, thereby exposing employees to the hazards associated with falls. Tomasz Bobak dba Tomas Construction, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, 29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1483421 , citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on August 26, 2020, with respect to a workplace located at 18917 Meadowview Dr. Mokena, IL 60448.
