29 CFR 1926.501(b)(3): Each employee in a hoist area was not protected from falling 6 feet (1.8m) or more to lower levels by guardrail systems or personal fall arrest systems: The employer does ensure employees in hoist areas are protected from falling 6 feet (1.8m) or more to lower levels by guardrail systems or personal fall arrest systems. This violation was discovered on or about January 10, 2023; on the west side of the second floor, where employees were loading metal beams onto a lift, and exposed to fall hazards. Pursuant to 29 C.F.R. 1903.19, within ten (10) calendar days of the abatement date, the employer must submit documentation showing that it is in compliance with the standard, including describing the steps that it is taking to ensure employees are protected from hazards such as those created by working in a hoist area not protected from falling 6 feet (1.8m) or more to lower levels by guardrail systems or personal fall arrest systems.
