29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: (a) Higher Roof - Employees using a material hoist as a ladder were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately twenty-eight (28) feet in that the hoist was not installed such that the side rails extended at least three (3) feet above the roof edge, on or about November 8, 2022. (a) Porch Roof - Employees using a multipurpose ladder were exposed to a fall hazard of approximately eleven (11) feet in that the ladder was not installed such that the side rails extended at least three (3) feet above the roof edge, on or about November 8, 2022.
