29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A): Respirators with tight-fitting facepieces were worn by employees who had facial hair that came between the sealing surface of the facepiece and the face or that interfered with valve function: a) On September 20, 2022, BCI Acrylic Inc., allowed employees working with Isocyanate (MDI) "A" Component and Elastopor�H 11711R in the Coating (Spray Booth) Department to use Honeywell 7700-30L half face tight-fitting negative pressure respirators with facial hair that interfered with the seal between the facepiece and the face. BCI Acrylic, Inc., was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard or its equivalent standard, 29 CFR 1910.134(g)(1)(i)(A) which was contained in OSHA Inspection Number 1411875, Citation number 1, Item number 2a and was affirmed as a final order on October 22, 2019, with respect to the workplace located at 1800 Industrial Drive, Libertyville, IL, 60048. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the CERTIFICATION OF CORRECTIVE ACTION WORKSHEET), and in addition, documentation demonstrating that abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to, evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
