29 CFR 1910.305(g)(1)(iv)(A):Flexible cords and/or cables were used as a substitute for the fixed wiring of a structure: Establishment: The employer did not ensure permanent wiring was installed to prevent extension cords from being used as permanent wiring in the following areas a) Quality control shop: extension cords were used from the bandsaw and two milling machines to outlets 1-4 feet from the equipment. b) Main shop: an extension cord was run up a wall and to the left of the door to power a vent fan. c) Air compressor room: an extension cord was run up the wall and near the fixed ladder powering the compressor.
