29 CFR 1910.147(c)(6)(i): The employer did not conduct a periodic inspection of the energy control procedure at least annually to ensure that the procedure and the requirement of this standard were being followed: On or about June 2, 2022, the employer did not ensure periodic inspections of energy control procedures were conducted annually, including a review of each authorized employee's responsibilities under the energy control procedures. Authorized employees are required to conduct and direct service/maintenance activities on the machines, requiring them to perform lockout/tagout. Cleveland Steel Container Corporation was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.147(c)(6)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1379481, citation number 01, item number 001B and was affirmed as a final order on July 3, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at 117 East Lincoln Street, Peotone, IL 60468.
