Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1): Portable fire extinguishers were not mounted, located and identified so that they were readily accessible without subjecting the employees to injuries: (a) The employer fails to ensure effective measures to prevent fire hazards as demonstrated on or about May 19, 2022, in the back storage room where, the portable fire extinguishers were blocked. To abate this hazard, the employer must ensure that the portable fire extinguishers are not blocked. Dollar General Corporation was previously cited for a repeat-other violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.157(c)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1263006, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on 02/16/2018, with respect to a workplace located at 19055 US Highway 31, Vinemont, AL.
