29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1):Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: The employer is failing to protect employees from fall hazards of approximately 8 feet while accessing the working surface. This was most recently documented when employees engaged in residential framing activities in that the aluminum ladder used to access the roof did not extend 3 feet from the working surface nor was secured to the structure. This was most recently documented at 8588 Chris Street Bel Aire, Kansas. Marcelo Contreras Villa dba Jackson Construction was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1508640, citation number 1, item number 4 and was affirmed as a final order on 08-16-2021, with respect to a workplace located at 9744 Sunset Cir, LENEXA, KS.
