29 CFR 1926.304(d): Portable, power-driven circular saw(s) were not equipped with a guard above and below the base plate or shoe: New residential construction located on Lot # 156 Silver Birch Pass, Newnan, GA 30265, Front side of structure: On or about 12/16/2021, the employer exposed employees to amputation hazards while operating a Makita (Model 5007F) 7-1/4-in. circular saw, in that the lower guard was inoperable as a wood shim was placed between the guards to keep the lower guard from retracting immediately after a cut was made. Antonio Alonzo DBA Alonzo Construction was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.304(d), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1301099, citation number 1, item number 2, and was affirmed as a final order on 01/28/2019, with respect to a workplace located at (Lot #577) 15 Boulder Bend, Newnan, GA 30265.
