Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.178(q)(7):Powered industrial truck(s) which were used on a round-the-clock basis were not examined for defects after each shift. On or about April 27, 2021, and times prior thereto, the employer did not ensured that a power industrial truck was not placed back into operations after defects were found including, but not limited to horn not working, seat belt being broken and back up alarm not working, exposing employees to struck-by hazards. UMC Energy Solutions was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.178(q)(7) which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1354480, citation number 01, item number 005 and was affirmed as a final order on May 1, 2019, with respect to a workplace located at 3201 N Sylvania, Fort Worth, Texas 76111.
