29 CFR 1910.178(q)(7): Industrial trucks were not examined before being placed in service and were placed in service when the examination showed condition(s) that would adversely affect the safety of the vehicle. Examinations were not made at least daily. Where industrial trucks are used on a round-the-clock basis, they were not examined after each shift. Loading Dock: The employer did not conduct daily/shift and/or inspections prior to use. The Toyota In Charger Model electric pallet jack was found in operation with a battery cable having exposed copper wiring. Employees were operating the pallet jack to transport metal bins containing parcels. Employees were exposed to electrical shock and/or mechanical failure hazards.
