Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.503(a)(1): ("Training Program.") The employer shall provide a training program for each employee who might be exposed to fall hazards. The program shall enable each employee to recognize the hazards of falling and shall train each employee in the procedures to be followed in order to minimize these hazards. (a) The employer did not provide a training program for employees performing framing work on Aug. 7, 2019, from portable ladders and exposed to potential fall heights of 9 feet (extension ladder) and 6 feet (stepladder) above ground level. (b) The employer did not provide a training program for employees performing elevated work on or about Aug. 7, 2019, and exposed to fall hazards while framing a 36 feet x 40 feet x 16 foot pole barn post frame. Mast Construction was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.20(b)(2), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1217565, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on 5/30/2017, with respect to a workplace located at 4400 Port Union Road, West Chester, OH 45069.
