Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.37(b)(5): Each doorway or passage along an exit access that could be mistaken for an exit was not marked "Not an Exit" or similar designation, or be identified by a sign indicating its actual use (e.g. closet): a) Supervisor's Office, Grounds Maintenance Building: A door at the rear of the office was not used as an exit as it lead into another area not controlled by the employer and was locked. It could be mistaken as an exit during a fire or emergency and it was not marked "Not An Exit". b) Southeast corner of Garage Area, Building #672. An exit door lead out to a set of exit steps which were blocked off from use due to them being unsafe, the exit door was not locked and it could be mistaken for a functioning exit during a fire or other emergency, the was no sign reading "Not and Exit" posted.
