Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.451(g)(1): Each employee on a scaffold more than 10 feet (3.1 m) above a lower level shall be protected from falling to that lower level. Paragraphs (g)(1)(i) through (vii) of this section establish the types of fall protection to be provided to the employees on each type of scaffold. Paragraph (g)(2) of this section addresses fall protection for scaffold erectors and dismantlers. a. Located at 12659 Preservation Way NW in Pickerington, Ohio: On or about July 25, 2019, the employer did not ensure that employees working from two elevated pump jack scaffold platforms were protected from falls on all open sides and edges, thereby exposing employees to a fifteen foot fall hazard. Jesus Menjivar was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health standard 29 CFR 1926.451(g)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1378625, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on 04/24/2019, with respect to a workplace located at The Village at Central College Lot 30, Westerville, Ohio.
