29 CFR 1926.405(g)(2)(iv): Strain relief. Flexible cords shall be connected to devices and fittings so that strain relief is provided which will prevent pull from being directly transmitted to joints or terminal screws. a. On or before June 5, 2019, where employees used an extension cord to provide electrical power to a circular saw, the strain relief clamp was pulled back from the insulating jacket of the cord, thereby exposing employees to a 125 volt electrical hazard. b. On or before June 5, 2019, where employees used an extension cord to provide electrical power to a microwave, the strain relief clamp was pulled back from the insulating jacket of the cord, thereby exposing employees to a 125 volt electrical hazard. Fernando Alvarado was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard, which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1124879, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on September 29, 2016, with respect to a workplace located at 270 Glen Crossing, Pataskala, OH 43062.
