Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.147(c)(4)(i): Procedures were not developed, documented and utilized for the control of potentially hazardous energy when employees were engaged in activities covered by this section: a. Curing Line, Lines A-F, Machines 1-10 - On or about November 27, 2018, contractors, full time and temporary employees did not utilize energy control procedures to perform servicing and maintenance including, but not limited to, changing the bladder and changing the molds. Employees were exposed to caught in between and struck by hazards. b. Mixing Building, Third Floor - On or about November 27, 2018, maintenance employees were engaged in replacing and fabricating a guard for a rotator shaft coupling. The guard was removed while the machine was in operation, exposing employees to caught-in hazards. Kumho Tire Georgia, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this Occupational Safety and Health Standard 1910.147(c)(4)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1196140, citation 1, item 3 issued June 6, 2017 and was affirmed as a final order on June 30, 2017, with respect to a workplace located at 3051 Kumho Parkway, Macon GA 31216.
