29 CFR 1910.28(b)(1)(i): The employer did not ensure that each employee on a walking-working surface with an unprotected side or edge that was 4 feet (1.2 m) or more above a lower level was protected from falling by one or more of the following: Guardrail systems, safety net systems, or personal fall arrest systems: a) Warehouse: Employees conducted records management tasks from elevated platforms that had unprotected sides (Wireway Husky racking system) ranging from about 10 to 14 feet high from above lower level, which were not adequately equipped with a fall protection system. Employees were exposed to fall hazards as observed on or about June 1, 2018. ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION AND DOCUMENTATION REQUIRED FOR THIS VIOLATION. EDM Americas, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1910.23(c)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 981063, citation number 1, item number 2 and was affirmed as a final order on November 3, 2014, with respect to a workplace located at 4th St./Pacific Ave., West Pittston, PA 18643.
