29 CFR 1926.451(g)(1): Each employee on a scaffold more than 10 feet (3.1 m) above a lower level shall be protected from falling to that lower level. Paragraphs (g)(1)(i) through (vii) of this section establish the types of fall protection to be provided to the employees on each type of scaffold. Paragraph (g)(2) of this section addresses fall protection for scaffold erectors and dismantlers. Note to paragraph (g)(1): The fall protection requirements for employees installing suspension scaffold support systems on floors, roofs, and other elevated surfaces are set forth in subpart M of this part. On Feb. 28, 2018, located on the north side of a residential structure, employees were observed working from an upper level platform of a tubular welded frame scaffold while not utilizing a fall protection system. Potential fall heights were measured to be greater than 13 feet above the ground below. Chava Gonzalez Masonry was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.451(g)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1047698, citation number 1, item number 3 and was affirmed as a final order on 6/3/2015, with respect to a workplace located at 5487 Walkers Ct., Hamilton OH 45011.
