29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1): One or more methods of machine guarding was not provided to protect the operator and other employees in the machine area from hazards such as those created by point of operation, ingoing nip points, rotating parts, flying chips and sparks: The employer is failing to protect employees from struck-by, caught-between, and crushing hazards when working at and traveling through the Henri line. This was most recently documented at the jobsite in Building 2-297F located at 3801 S Oliver St. in Wichita Kansas. Employees were exposed in that guarding was not provided to prevent employees from accessing the area between the housing of the automatic tool changer and the traveling carriage, and the tool spindle on the traveling carriage was not guarded to prevent employees from accessing the machine while it was changing tools. a) Henri line #117Q in Building 2-297F at Colum 29 b) Henri line #250W in Building 2-297F at Colum 25 The Spirit Aerosystems, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1910.212(a)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 984692, citation number 1, item number 1, and was affirmed as a final order on 01/30/15, with respect to a workplace located at 3801 S Oliver St. in Wichita Kansas.
