Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1910.179(j)(3): Complete inspections of the crane was not being performed at intervals as generally defined in paragraph (j)(1)(ii)(b) of this section: a) Establishment- On or about September 20, 2017, employees were exposed to struck by hazards while operating the overhead cranes that have not been inspected annually for defects since 1/26/16 and working in the area of suspended loads. The employer, Rothe Welding, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard (29 CFR 1910.179(j)(3)), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 190857, citation number 1, item number 4 and was affirmed as a final order on 7/24/2014, with respect to a workplace located at 1455 Route 212, Saugerties, NY 12477.
