29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: On or about 8/11/2017 at 318 Tarnbrook Chase, Lot 8B, Sugar Hill, GA where employees performing plywood installation to the roofing system were exposed to fall hazards of 11-feet to the lower level where the ladder was not extended 3-feet above the access/egress point. Vicente Chico dba Chico Construction, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1221108, citation number 1, item number 2, and was affirmed as a final order on 6/21/2017, with respect to a workplace located at 875 Grove Glen Cir, Sugar Hill GA 30518. Vicente Chico dba Chico Construction, Inc. was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 1926.1053(b)(1), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1173752, citation number 1, item number 1b, and was affirmed as a final order on 9/29/16, with respect to a workplace located at Lot 181, Still Pine Bend, Smyrna GA, 30080.
