Text For Citation: 02 Item/Group: 002 Hazard:
29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: a) On or about 6/8/17 at a residential construction project located at Bentgrass Run, Clarence, New York; extension ladders were used for access to the roof and scaffold at the side of the house. The ladder at the scaffold extended 1'-6" foot above the platform and at the ladder for the roof extended approximately 2 feet above the eaves. NO ABATEMENT CERTIFICATION REQUIRED Besroi Construction Corporation was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1132269, citation number 3, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 7/6/16, with respect to a workplace located at 61 John Alex Drive, West Seneca, New York.
