29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(1)(i): Stairways having four or more risers or rising more than 30 inches (76 cm), whichever is less, were not equipped with at least one handrail: a) Stairway, First to Second Floor - On or about February 27, 2017, a worker was exposed to up to a 10 foot fall down a set of stairs having six risers which had not been provided with a hand rail. b) Stairway, Second to Third Floor - On or about February 27, 2017, a worker was exposed to up to a 10 foot fall down a set of stairs having six risers which had not been provided with a hand rail. Oscar Cruz was previously cited for a violation of this occupational safety and health standard 29 CFR 1926.1052(c)(1)(i), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1047143, citation number 1, item number 2a and was affirmed as a final order on 09/04/2015, with respect to a workplace located at 746 19th Street, NE, Washington, DC 20002. In accordance with 29 CFR 1903.19(d), abatement certification is required for this violation (using the Certification of Corrective Action Worksheet), in addition, documentation demonstrating the abatement is complete must be included with your certification. This documentation may include, but is not limited to evidence of the purchase or repair of the equipment, photographic or video evidence of abatement, or other written records.
