29 CFR 1910.305(g)(2)(ii): Flexible cords were not used in continuous lengths without splice or tap. Hard-service cord and junior hard-service cord No. 14 and larger may be repaired if spliced so that the splice retains the insulation, outer sheath properties, and usage characteristics of the cord being spliced. Line 1 Hayssen Bagging Machine- On or about January 31, 2017 employees performing preventative maintenance were exposed to fire hazards when a No. 12 flexible cord (extension cord) was spliced, heat shrink wrapped, and covered with electrical tape. No documentation required for this item.
