29 CFR 1926.1053(b)(1): Where portable ladders were used for access to an upper landing surface and the ladder's length allows, the ladder side rails did not extend at least 3 feet (.9 m) above the upper landing surface being accessed: Location: 45 Highland Ave Lowell MA On or about October 5, 2016, an employee exposed to a fall hazard from a ladder that was not extended three feet above the landing surface. This violation was most recently observed on October 5, 2016 at a jobsite located at 45 Highland Ave, Lowell, MA 01851 where employees were exposed to fall hazards greater than 22 feet. To abate this violation, the employer must ensure that ladders are extended three feet above the landing surfaces.
