29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13): Each employee(s) engaged in residential construction activities 6 feet (1.8 m) or more above lower levels were not protected by guardrail systems, safety net system, or personal fall arrest system, nor were employee(s) provided with an alternative fall protection measure under another provision of paragraph 1926.501 (b): Each employee engaged in framing activities (with unprotected sides and edges) and when working/walking next to unguarded window openings is not protected from falling by the use of fall protection system(s). Quick Carpentry, Inc. does not ensure the use of fall protection while performing framing work and when walking and working next to unguarded window openings. This violation was most recently observed at Block 14802, Lot 89, 6 Mimosa Court, Sicklerville NJ where for instance "A" a company employee was exposed to fall hazards, in excess of 21 feet to the ground surface below, when performing framing and other related activities without the use of fall protection and for instance "B" a company employee was exposed to fall hazards, in excess of 13 feet to the ground surface below, when walking/working next to an unguarded wall opening. The conditions for both instance "A" and "B" were noted on or about 10/06/16. To abate this violation the employer must ensure that its employees performing framing work, and other related activities, are protected from falls and that no employee is allowed to be exposed to a fall hazard of 6 feet or more without the use of adequate fall protection. Pursuant to 29 CFR 1903.19, Quick Carpentry, Inc. must submit documents describing the steps it is taking to ensure compliance, including a description of how these steps protect its employees from fall hazards. Quick Carpentry, Inc. was previously cited for a Repeat violation of this occupational safety and health standard or its equivalent standard 29 CFR 1926.501(b)(13), which was contained in OSHA inspection number 1147849, citation number 1, item number 1 and was affirmed as a final order on 08/01/16, with respect to a workplace located at 25th & Atlantic Avenue, Longport NJ.
